Superlative Night Dreams: Cotton Rock'n Roll
The first totally original game in the Cotton series since 2000's Rainbow Cotton, Cotton Rock'n Roll is a return to traditional 2D sidescrolling shooter action. On the hunt for the fantastical candy "Willow" once more, Cotton and her fairy friend Silk must shoot their way through a series of levels while collecting crystals and magic spells. Like in other games in the series, Cotton can collect yellow crystals floating through the air in order to power up her firepower. If she shoots crystals instead of collecting them, they change colour, with different colours allowing her to collect special magic spells that grant her one-time use powerful abilities. This time around, Cotton is joined by a variety of friends with their own unique playstyles. The cast includes: Appli: Introduced in Cotton 2, the witch Appli retains her playstyle from that game. Saiba Ria: An anthropomorphized version of the ship from Success's Psyvariar: Medium Unit, she can use that game's distinct bullet buzzing and rolling shot features. Vein: An anthropomorphized version of the ship from Success's Sanvein, she features adaptations of that ship's unique abilities. Kawase: The hero of the Umihara Kawase series.
